How have you’ll been? My apologies for staying a bit out of touch but if you have been following me on Instagram I am sure you would have loved the nightwear looks I have created in association with Clovia. I am currently a bit occupied attending Lakme Fashion Week and you will soon get to see the looks I have styled for LFW.
In this blog, I have focused on styling 3 active wear looks because I think active wear is something which doesn’t receive much attention. Although because of the increased awareness, now people have started paying attention to the details of active wear such as the fabric to be worn or that how important it is for females to wear a sports bra during the workout sessions. Still the focus on looking good while working out is nonetheless the same. These 3 looks will definitely give you a fresh perspective towards active wear clothing.

Choosing workout out clothes depends upon the type of exercise you’ll be doing. I like wearing knee-length leggings as they provide the required freedom of movement. Choose synthetic and natural fabrics that will keep you dry and prevent you from getting that “Soaked to the bone” look.

I can’t even begin to tell you how important it is to wear a sports bra during workout. Physical activity makes breasts bounce. This continuous and repetitive movements can result in soreness, pain and sagging. Sports bras are made to reduce this movement and provide stress free workout. It doesn’t matter what size breasts you have, everyone experiences movement during physical activity. Therefore, every woman, no matter what size she is, should wear a sports bra while running or exercising.

This workout tank top is one of my favourites as it eliminates the hassle of wearing a separate bra inside because it comes with an attached sports bra. This tank top is durable, strong and long lasting because its made from nylon which is the most appropriate fabric of all sportswear fabric and that is why I prefer wearing nylon for my workout sessions.
Some important points to keep in mind while selecting your active wear clothes are –
- Avoid wearing any rough fabrics that could irritate your skin during repetitive movement.
- Choose materials that let you move and don’t constrict you.
- Pay closer attention to fit than size, as some workout clothes tend to be smaller and more form fitting than regular clothes.
- Look for items that have a small percentage of spandex listed on the label—about 10% is fitness fabric industry standard. This allows for a greater range of motion during exercise and can provide a comfortable movement.
There is a new trend in fashion in which clothing designed for workouts and other athletic activities is worn in other settings, such as during work, casual or social occasions, this trend is called Athleisure. I am sure after reading this you will pay equal attention to looking good while trying to get in shape. Also, do share with me which of these three looks is your favourite.
Until next time,
